Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Manual QA Tester with 3–5 years of experience in software testing across Web applications, Mobile applications, and REST APIs. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, usability, and reliability of our applications across different platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, system, exploratory, and usability testing.
- Test responsive web applications across different browsers and devices.
- Perform mobile application testing on Android and iOS devices/emulators.
- Perform API testing for REST APIs using tools such as Postman.
- Validate API request/response, status codes, headers, authentication, error handling, and data.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects using tools such as Jira, Zoho or similar defect management tools.
- Perform end-to-end testing across different application modules and integrations.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Participate in requirement reviews and provide inputs from a testing perspective.
- Maintain test cases, test data, and testing documentation.
- Perform regression testing for new releases and enhancements.
- Verify fixes and ensure defects are properly resolved before release.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, testing standards, and overall product quality.
- Communicate testing status, risks, blockers, and defects to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Manual Software Testing.
- Strong experience in Web Application Testing.
- Hands-on experience in Mobile Application Testing on Android and/or iOS.
- Good experience with API Testing, preferably using Postman.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, request/response validation, and JSON.
- Good knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts and defect life cycle.
- Experience writing clear and comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and defect reports.
- Experience with Jira or similar test/defect management tools.
- Good understanding of SQL/database validation is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
Good to Have
- Exposure to Selenium or any automation testing framework.
- Basic understanding of automation testing concepts.
- Experience testing applications across multiple browsers and devices.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of performance or security testing is an advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
